The significance of Harvey Milk in the gay rights and entire civil rights movement cannot be understated. If you are not familiar with him, you need to do a little googling. If you are gay and not familiar with him, shame on you.

I hope this movie transcends the gay niche market because Harvey Milk is one the great political stories. You don't have to be gay to appreciate this story and it's historical significance. Probably shouldn't have to say that but Dan White probably shouldn't have eaten so many twinkies...
The Harvey Fierstein narrated documentary "The Times of Harvey Milk" is a must see as well.
